On Sunday 26th January 2020, the Bangor Karate Union (BKU) travelled down to Barnsley to compete in the Yorkshire Open. This was the club’s third year competing in the competition. The competition began with our pair’s competitors. After gaining a gold medal in the Welsh Open in November, the expectations were high for the pair. Hannah and Rachel progressed through to the semi-finals, beating black belt pairs along the way before eventually being knocked out by the England squad pair to gain the first medal of the day; bronze. Bangor University representatives were invited down to London, St James’ Palace to celebrate 100 years of BUCS hosted by HRH the Princess Royal. Bangor University Paintball has had a revolutionary change over the last year with the implementation of a new indoor arena over at Normal Site sports hall. The addition of this indoor arena, mixed with our reusable paintballs, allows the club to offer very cheap paintball sessions that allow people a gateway into the world of competitive paintball.
