PsychSoc is a society for anyone with an interest in the field of psychology, no matter what they’re studying here in Bangor. After disbanding at the end of the 2017/18 academic year, the society was restarted halfway towards the end of the first semester of the 18/19 academic year and hit the ground running. In just one semester we organised multiple social events (drinking and non-drinking), a number of charity events for several charities focusing on mental health raising over £400, academic events in the form of guest lectures by lecturers teaching something they may not usually get the chance to, providing students with an extra insight to the world of psychology, and even the PsychSoc Spring Ball in aid of MIND. This year we plan on being bigger and better! We have the whole first semester of events planned with our first two events being a games night and a toga party, with all of our events able to be viewed on the calendar posted to our Facebook and Instagram pages. We also want to focus on student engagement this year, especially mature students and post-grad students. So come along to one of our events and gain some lovely friends with interests in similar places!
