Interested in theatre? BEDS is the society for you!
We are the Bangor English Dramatics Society (BEDS) and are here for all your stagecraft
needs. We have endless opportunities for actors, directors, production crews, stage
management, and writers. Our taster sessions are on September 21 st and 22 nd from 2-4 pm
in the Drama Rehearsal Room (DRR), Main Arts. We’ll be meeting people in the Main
Arts foyer both days to show you to the room. Everyone is welcome!
This semester, we are putting on the following shows:
Sexual Perversity in Chicago by David Mamet (Auditions: September 25 th , DRR, 6pm)
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck (Auditions: September 24 th , DRR, 6pm)
Birdsong by Rachel Wagstaff and Sebastian Faulks (Auditions; September 23 rd , OSCR A,
You are welcome to audition for as many shows as you like and we will have people waiting
in the Main Arts foyer if you aren’t sure where the rooms are located. More information will
be provided at the taster sessions, including other ways to get involved with us, and you will
get to meet the directors.
In BEDS, we work hard to ensure a friendly and professional atmosphere. Fairness and
equality are huge pillars of our society’s constitution, so we encourage actors of all
backgrounds to try out for whatever parts they want. We are proud to enforce a gender-blind
casting system and are one of the most diverse groups in Bangor!
We believe strongly in forming friendships and opportunities off-stage too. We hold weekly
socials, normally on Wednesdays and Sundays after our rehearsals, where we spend time
enjoying each other’s company. Additionally, we often plan activities together, such as
picnics, beach days, nights out, watching plays and films in Pontio, and our bi-annual black
