Bangor City have kicked off the summer by confirming the signing of Sam Hart from Airbus UK.
““He is a player I have always rated highly and after 5 minutes talking to him I could sense he was a player who would fit in well and allow us to build on the foundations we have laid this past season” said manager, Nev Powell.
Hart, 22, brings the familiar youth and flexibility to the Europe-bound side, playing at either left back or centre midfield. He joined the Wingmakers in 2012 after coming through the academy at Preston North End and signing for their first team in 2010. He started 24 games and made 9 appearances for the Broughton side this season, scoring 4 goals.
He simply wants to play for a club like Bangor City having admired the fans and the facilities since he joined the WPL with Airbus. At 22 he is another player who can play in various positions and has a bright future at the club ahead of him” said Powell.
Despite being born in England, Hart qualifies to play for Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland through his grandparents. However, it is Wales that he has represented at both under 17 and under 19 levels.
Bangor City consider him to be an “exciting prospect” and addition to their team coming off the back of a 2-0 victory last weekend against Rhyl, which sees the Citizens return to the Europa League after a year out.
