Of recent, autumn style inspiration has become synonymous with Gilmore Girls, the cozy and light-hearted – albeit fairly tongue-in-cheek – sitcom drama about single mum Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter Rory. British funk and acid house group Jamiroquai have blessed listeners with the cult-classic, exquisitely choreographed dance scene in the 2004 film Napoleon Dynamite featuring the song ‘Canned Heat’. And, of course, great tunes such as ‘Virtual Insanity’, the music video of which is a perfect example of Jay Kay’s style. Cheerleading is arguably one of the only sports intrinsically associated with the university experience and students, and Bangor’s cheer team is a great representation. As a sport, cheerleading’s history began earlier than you may presume: the general consensus is that it began in America when a university student named Johnny Campbell conducted his own cheer in 1898.
