The Endeavour Society is the student run ocean science society, running weekly talks on all aspects of ocean science from biology, geology through to engineering, chemistry and conservation which are a great way to spark an interest and to gain contacts in the scientific community for that future career. We also run lots of fun activities throughout the year including walks, beach clean socials, crabbing competitions, aquarium visits and pub socials (with free pizza and sandwiches).

The UK Polar Network is the UK branch of the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS). It comprises a dedicated management committee and the membership of over 300 early career scientists, from aspiring undergraduates to current Masters and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and recent faculty appointees. UKPN aims to provide networking between and support for early career polar researchers, to provide education and outreach with regards to polar issues to young people and to provide information via newsletters and the website.

APECS is an international and interdisciplinary organization for undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, early faculty members, educators and others with interests in Polar Regions and the wider cryosphere. Its aims are to stimulate interdisciplinary and international research collaborations, and develop effective future leaders in polar research, education and outreach.
